Newcomer IdeaTek Fiber committed to Tucson, part of El Tour

IdeaTek Fiber isn’t exactly new, but it is new to Tucson with an intention of becoming a household name.

El Tour de Tucson welcomes them to the neighborhood and appreciates IdeaTek being a new sponsor. They’ve been around since 1999, but established themselves in Tucson four months ago.

“IdeaTek Fiber’s goal is simple; to bring internet freedom to all,” said Liana Sharp, Community Relations Manager. “We do this by showing up in our communities at impactful events, and El Tour is most certainly one of them. We want to show Tucson that we’re not here to build and leave; we’re here to become a household name. We are excited to partner with El Tour de Tucson and share with its guests the power of fiber internet.”

They started hiring in July and will have their office space ready in November.

“We’re new to Tucson, but we’re committed for the long run,” she said.

They are currently preparing for construction in certain areas of the city, but “our long-term goal is to offer our service to all of Tucson proper,” she said.

They are investing $300 million to build a 100% fiber-optic network across Tucson, making them the first provider to participate in the City of Tucson’s 100% fiber incentive program.

“We’re offering plans starting at $54.95/month with speeds up to 8 Gig, all with no contracts and no data caps, backed by local customer support,” Sharp said. “We’re not just passing through — we’re hiring locally, investing in long-term infrastructure, and bringing true competition and Internet Freedom to the community. We look forward to establishing strong local roots and serving Tucson residents for years to come.”

IdeaTek will be at El Tour’s Expo and will be raffling off an entry into the ride (see their social media channels for details).
