Southwest Heritage Bank ‘keeps our community thriving’; returns as an El Tour sponsor

What connects Southwest Heritage Bank and El Tour de Tucson? A genuine love for our community.
El Tour embodies the spirit of Tucson, and Southwest Heritage Bank is dedicated to supporting the people and places that make it thrive.

We’re excited Southwest Heritage Bank is back for a second year as a sponsor for El Tour, but has been part of the event for many years under the former Commerce Bank.

“Supporting a Tucson nonprofit like El Tour is especially meaningful to us, as our bank was built from similar community-driven efforts 22 years ago,” said Sean Murray, SVP/Market President.El Tour shines a light on what makes Tucson special, and we’re proud to stand behind the people and businesses that keep our community thriving.”

We think the same way at El Tour. We’ve been able to help raise nearly $130 million for charities locally and nationwide. It’s with the help of great sponsors like Southwest Heritage Bank we are able to. After all, it takes a village – and we have a great one.

“Early in 2025, we celebrated one year as Southwest Heritage Bank, following our name change from Commerce Bank of Arizona,” Murray said. “While some customers still remember us by our former name, our dedication to serving Southern Arizona’s lending and deposit needs – especially those of our local businesses – remains stronger than ever.”

For years, they’ve made their mark on the community and will continue to do so under their new name.

“At Southwest Heritage Bank, we are dedicated to the financial well-being of our entire community – from small to medium-sized businesses to the families and individuals who call this region home,” Murray said. “We provide comprehensive banking solutions, from essential online banking and bill pay to specialized services, all delivered by local experts. Whether expanding operations, acquiring equipment, or financing a new building, our experienced banking officers are dedicated to helping you achieve your financial goals. We are committed to consistently delivering responsive, tailored, and expert banking services through local leadership.”

And it’s a leadership that practices what it preaches and gets involved. Once again, Sean will run in the El Tour 5K Fun Run. He’ll be joined by friends and family this year.

“It was really inspiring to be a part of the race last year, both as a sponsor and running participant,” he said. “The event was well run and with such a high turnout of cyclists and runners, you could feel the excitement.”

It’s what we like to hear!
