As we prepare for year 41 of El Tour de Tucson, we want to recognize we would not have made it this long and strong without our great sponsors.

Through the years they’ve been great – supporting a ride that has been beneficial for so many to make the ride a success.

What sponsors have done is assist El Tour raise nearly $121 million for the more than 100 non-profit organizations (local and nationally) that have joined in to make the ride what it is today – one of the largest in the United States and one that attracts cyclists from all over the world, making for a significant economic impact for the Tucson community.

We appreciate our sponsor’s support and hope we can continue to work together to strengthen our community.

Figure that in year one – 1983 – fewer than 200 cyclists took to Tucson roads and raised $4,500.

And it’s not just about the money but El Tour – through great sponsors and advocates – has been able to donate more than 3,500 bikes, helmets, locks and lights to under-served communities over the last two years, creating a generation of cyclists for the future.

Clearly, El Tour has come a long way.

It truly takes a village – one that brings in top-level sponsorship support to all levels that have helped in their own way.
