Cyclist Jo Roberts joins Perimeter Bicycling’s Board
Jo Roberts is very familiar with Perimeter Bicycling events. From to riding in El Tour de Tucson many times to finishing on the podium in El Tour de Mesa to riding around Tour de Scottsdale, she’s well versed in cycling in and around Arizona … and beyond.
She’s taken it one step further, becoming a new board member for Perimeter Bicycling.
“The opportunity presented itself recently,” she said. “But I thought it would be something where I could potentially be helpful for perspective.”
Perspective given she’s a long-time cyclist and a pretty good one at that, finishing among the top cyclists in her respective categories. She won Mesa twice.

She’s ridden in El Tour de Tucson 15 to 20 times.
She knows the life of a cyclist, which makes for being a very good advocate.
“Not just in the racing part but I’ve done all the facets and distances at all the events,” she said. “I do have a little history.”
In the most recent Tour de Scottsdale, she placed third overall female.
“That was great because I’m getting up there,” she said, laughing.

With age comes wisdom and she’ll be helping Perimeter with that as a new board member.
It helps that she loves all things cycling, having started in the late 1980s after being a runner. She was also into triathlons.
“I not only realized it was great for business (for networking) but it was a social magnate for me because that’s where I formed a lot of friendships when I moved to Tucson,” she said. “Now they are friendships that I’ve had for more than 35 years. I have friends and friends of cyclists who have come to me for real estate needs.”
She’ll continue to ride in Perimeter Bicycling events – of course – making sure cyclists are taken care of on and off the course.
“I don’t know what event yet I’ll ride in,” she said, referring to November’s ride. “Maybe it’s a tandem but I don’t know. I might ride alone but I’ll be there in some form or fashion.”
