When the 41st El Tour de Tucson rolls out on the streets on Saturday morning…
GROgirlGRO, a great organization for empowering girls to get out and hike, bike and enjoy the outdoors
El Tour has made a great effort to bring the youth of Tucson and Southern to cycle. There’s El Tour Bike for Change, which along with many local supporters have made it possible for more than 5,000 children to get a free bike to get moving and exercising.
We want to help more.
Here’s why we love seeing GROgirlGRO, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and young women in Tucson, Vail and surrounding communities through mountain bike riding, hiking, and outdoor adventures. The program is finishing up its second year.
They are getting out and moving – as we all should. And they are starting early.
Their programming is firmly grounded in adventuring AND giving back to our trails and community.
They are on a mission to increase the number of girls and young women in Tucson, Vail and surrounding areas who believe they are strong athletes and capable outdoor leaders through safe, supported, inclusive outdoor experiences.
