Haro Bikes brings a stylish, cool performance road bike to El Tour Nov. 23

Haro Bikes will be at the 41st El Tour de Tucson, showing off their new Rivette bike.

“We’re excited to be part of it,” said Megan Tompkins, Haro’s chief marketing officer. “We’ve heard some very good things about the event.”

And where better to debut its stylishly cool new road bike – Rivette. More than 9,000 cyclists from all over the world will be in Tucson for the ride.

“Exactly,” she said. “From the types of riders you have there it fits. It would be appealing to them with a high-end road bike, one that is accessible and something that’s a little bit different or something riders have not seen before.”

Haro will have a spot at the El Tour Expo, where they will be partnering with Tucson’s Bicycle Ranch (one of the bike dealers).

“We look forward to generating some excitement around it,” she said. “We’ll also have some of our team riding out there on it.

The transition from BMX to road bikes seemed obvious. BMX riders of the past are now older, so the “evolution of the brand” has transitioned a bit to fit those riders.

“When you think about our customer demographic, we have this loyal customer base that grew up on a Haro, so those individuals might not be riding a BMX bike any longer, but hopefully they’ve transitioned over to riding gravel bikes or mountain bikes, or, in this case, road bikes. It seemed like the way to evolve the brand, to reach where our customer is now.”

While HARO might be new to the drop-bar category, they’ve poured years of experience as both riders and product developers into their debut road bike. Crafted from high-pitch carbon fiber, the race-ready Rivette is an all-arounder that boasts extreme stiffness and aero tube shapes – all at the weight of a climbing bike so you can conquer climbs, carve descents and corner on a dime.

“It’s a super all-arounder as a performance road bike goes,” Tompkins said. “It’s not fully aero (dynamic) but it does have some aero tube shaping, so it makes for a great all-around bike for climbing and descending. It’s a serious road bike that does it all. It has solid specs and a killer paint job.”
