Where would El Tour de Tucson be without our Aid Stations? We don’t want to…
Tucson Subaru gifts 2025 Outback to Youth on their Own; first it’ll lead 41st El Tour on Saturday
When the 41st El Tour de Tucson rolls out on the streets on Saturday morning you will not miss it.
It’s bold and colorful and a great ride – a 2025 Outback – by Tucson Subaru. Once again, Tucson Subaru has provided the El Tour pace car, and it has been gifted to local non-profit Youth on their Own.
How great is that, on all fronts?
“It’s the best one yet,” said John Petersavage, the general manager of Tucson Subaru. “There’s no way that somebody can’t see this car or drive by and not recognize Youth on their Own on it. This isn’t about us, it’s about the charity.”
It’s wrapped to promote The Subaru Share the Love Event supporting Youth on Their Own, their chosen hometown charity for the ride.
Subaru long has been known to support the Tucson community.
“It’s important for us to give back,” Petersavage said.
Tucson Subaru presented the car to the charity earlier this week. And provided many of the Youth on their Own members a one-of-a-kind Subaru El Tour jersey.
“We couldn’t do this without you,” Petersavage said.
Youth on their Own loves it. They’ll replace last year’s model with this new one, with striking colors of green, pink and blue … a rainbow of colors.
Already, members of Youth on their Own have put nice words on the car: “Dream Big” and “Ride On” and “We Got This.”
Bethany Neumann, Director of Development & Communication for Youth on their Own, called Subaru a “favorite partner because they help in so many different ways not just monetary support. This past year it’s been so fun to drive around the El Tour de Tucson car.”
Subaru has long provided the pace car for the iconic Tucson event. It’s ready – and rad – for the road and will look cool for it. You can’t miss it.
“This one is awesome,” she said. “It looks very ‘Saved by the Bell.”
Not only do they help support the community, but they are also involved in it. They’ll have a team of cyclists on the course as well. They’ve been involved with El Tour for years.
“El Tour is a staple of Tucson,” Petersavage said. “It’s been here for a long time and we are blessed to be part of it. It’s charity driven and so are we.”
It’s long been their goal to raise $1 million for this charity and as of the ride they are closing in on $800K.
The money is used to help students graduate from high school. Most of the money collected this year – projected to be about $100,000 – will go to its stipend program, which helps kids go to school.
