Boeing: 40 years of feeling ‘a strong connection to the community’ joins El Tour de Mesa as the Presenting Sponsor

Boeing loves having an impact on the community, having given more than $2 million to Arizona-based charitable nonprofits.

In 2022, Boeing is the presenting sponsor for the Holualoa 30th El Tour de Mesa where more than 1,100 cyclists will ride in and around Mesa on Saturday.

“I have witnessed first-hand how our Boeing teammates feel a strong connection to the community and frequently volunteer and support various causes – and that is so great to see,” said Kathleen “KJ” Jolivette, VP Attack Helicopter Programs and Mesa Sr. Site Executive, The Boeing Company.

“Our Boeing site celebrates 40 years in Mesa – that’s 40 years of excellence, teamwork and giving back to the communities we call home,” Jolivette added. “Our Boeing teammates, through their volunteering and partnership with our non-profits are really making a difference in our backyards.”

This is Boeing’s first year with Perimeter Bicycling and El Tour, just one of the many nonprofits it will help this year.

Welcome to the family and thank you!

Boeing’s impact in the community and in the state is palpable given it has more than 4,300 employees, has 289 suppliers and has an economic impact of $1.4 billion.

“Anchored by employee-engagement activities, Boeing charitable grants are geared toward developing tomorrow’s innovators by investing in the skills required in today’s modern workplace, supporting military veterans and their families transitioning back to civilian life, encouraging environmental stewardship and advancing racial equity and social justice,” Jolivette said. “Our teammates have worked together to build a tremendous legacy in our community. We know that our teammates and our community is what have made our success possible.”

In fact, Boeing employees have volunteered more than 11,000 hours to Arizona-based programs. They care and we all benefit.

“Through purposeful investments like this one with El Tour, and employee engagement efforts, we are not only creating value, but we are also helping to build a better community.”

Thank you again, Boeing, for being part of El Tour and in the Phoenix/Mesa community for 40 years.

“While we may be celebrating our 40th, we are just getting started,” said Jolivette. “We are proud to call Mesa home!”
