Long Realty celebrating 100 years; being part of El Tour helps spread the word

Kevin Kaplan, behind Long Realty, will get back on his bike to help raise money for those in need. It’s what cyclists do in El Tour and definitely what Kaplan likes to do as CEO for Long Realty, especially for the mission of the Long Realty Cares Foundation.

“I hope to raise a lot of money for it,” said Kaplan, who will get back on his bake (actually he’s never abandoned it) after riding in Tour de Zona in the spring.

It’s also a commemorative year for Long Realty given it’s the 100-year anniversary.

He’ll be repping his new 100-year Long jersey on Nov. 21 for El Tour. He’s ridden in El Tour numerous times, so much so “I’ve lost count,” he said. “Eight, nine or 10. But I’ve been doing it for a while. I’ve ridden a lot of the distances.”

He’ll ride in the 62-miler this year.

Long Realty Cares Foundation was established in 2002 to expand philanthropic activities, providing a venue for individuals and our company to collectively enhance the quality of life in Arizona. El Tour is pleased to welcome them back.

Kaplan and Long Realty are glad to be back.

According to their website over 3.5 million dollars in support has been donated to more than 200 different non-profit organizations in the communities where we live and work. Long Realty credits the generosity to the many sales associates who voluntarily donate a portion of their commission from each real estate transaction and Long Companies employees who personally contribute to the Foundation.

“It’s part of our culture and DNA of our company (to help) in addition to our foundation in giving millions of dollars back to local nonprofit organizations over the years,” Kaplan said. “Many of our agents and our staff give back on their own through financial means or time. We are believers in our community. For us, we like sponsoring iconic events in Southern Arizona to help celebrate our 100 years. We pick ones that give us great exposure and are iconic like we are. It’s important to show the community that we care and that Tucson is  a great place to be.”
