Tailwind Nutrition ‘trying to grow awareness in the bike market’ will have a nice presence at El Tour
All Bryce Johnson had to know about El Tour de Tucson was “the great atmosphere” it displays. It was then he – and Tailwind Nutrition – was hooked and, well, had to be a part of it.
So, Tailwind Nutrition will be part of our big event.
“As a brand, we have been trying to grow our awareness in the bike market,” said Johnson, Tailwind Nutrition’s event coordinator. “The founder initially made Tailwind for himself while competing in the Leadville 100 MTB. Our roots as a brand started in bike and we are trying to pick events to help increase awareness and allow people an opportunity to taste Tailwind products as well.”
They will be there at the Expo in Downtown Tucson and a couple of aid stations (7 and 10) along the route.
According to Johnson, Tailwind Nutrition has three product lines that are all powdered drink mixes.
“Across the board, our products are made with clean ingredients (no GMOs, gluten free, vegan, dairy free, and soy free), made to be very simple to use, and are made here in Durango, CO,” he said. “We are proud to be a brand with clean products. We make products that are easy on people’s stomachs and help them reach their goals no matter what time they finish.”
It sounds ideal for El Tour participants for any of the three rides: 32 miles, 63 miles or 102 miles.
El Tour will be one of the many events Tailwind Nutrition will be part of this year and next.
“We are trying to support as many bike events as possible in 2025,” Johnson said. “Throughout the year, I have gone to a number of different kinds of bike events, and they have gone well. We are getting more and more awareness and it’s been fun to see that from the booth. It’s always great to hear from Tailwind users firsthand how our products have helped them reach their goals.”
The team’s Chief Revenue Officer Chris Jacobs heard about the event from friends in the area and will be in Tucson to man a tent himself at the event. It’s likely he’ll ride in El Tour next year.
“Although we are truly proud of what we’ve achieved with our products we are actually proudest of what others have achieved with our products: from breaking through personal barriers to setting PRs and even getting on a podium or two,” Jacobs said. “We feel that everyone deserves to feel what it’s like to achieve that moment when you just want to high five yourself and yell ‘Heck Yeah’, and we are very proud of helping so many people achieve this.”
